Leslie, I have a client whose son is actually working on an E-business
project where they have to form a Dot com company utilizing the recent
technologies and e-business components.  He is going to school at Villanova
as well.  I guess it would depend on the school the individual is going to
as well as what type of projects are being issued.  I think the schools are
trying to transition the curriculum into a vehicle that is more conducive to
the professional IT field.

Less knowledgeable about database design, information systems theory,
programming itself (rather than specific language training)? Yes.  They
have a checklist of technologies all marked off, but do not seem interested
in or knowledgeable about broader IT issues.  And they are taught all the
past was merely prelude and to disdain older technologies.  Of course, 
this means that since they do not know history, they are doomed to repeat
it.
