I could give you an example of writing a file into the IFS from RPG IV,
but I haven't actaually tried it in CL.  

As for WORD (.doc) format, this is a proprietary format used by Microsoft,
and really has very little to do with the AS/400.  I wouldn't expect to be
able to find info on creating files in WORD format in an IBM book.

You could try searching the internet, I imagine you'd find some info
there.  You might also look at www.microsoft.com -- but if you're like
me you'll have a hard time finding what you want there :)

A better (IMHO) solution is to use a format thats not proprietary.  If
plain text will work, use that -- its a lot easier.  If not, maybe HTML?
If HTML is still too limited, PDF might be an option.
