  • Subject: Off topic 3570 connected to NT

After switching to 3575 tapelibraries we did find our 3570-Magstar tapedrive
without work.
So we read they are to be used with Microsoft NT as well as the AS/400.
So we bought a Adaptec 2944UW SCSI adapter for one of our NT (4.0
servicepack 6) servers.
Connected the 3570 to this card.
NT finds the drive and tells us it has a LUN0 (this is the tapedrive) and a
LUN1 (This is the changer for the cartridges)
The Tape option in controlpannel finds the IBM3570B02 and is able to load
the corresponding windows-drivers.
They are loaded and started.
The NTUTIL (tapetestprogram) sees the tape0 and the changer (LB1.0.0.1)
Then we test the Drive open command and we get a Access denied error.

The backup software tell us there is a tape drive and the driversoftware is
loaded but the tape is not responding.

Anyone??
