Why not use the Tivoli "enterprise" products that are almost identical to
what you use with IT Director?  You are already familiar with Tivoli and
the time for re-training will be a whole lot less.  And, I bet Tivoli will
minimize the impact ($) of the change.

We are looking to replace Tivoli IT Director with a new product (since
Tivoli have withdrawn IT Director) and are examining our options.  Does
anyone have any recommendations for a product that has similar
functionaility and offers the scope to be able to manage/monitor NT,
AS/400, Netware, routers, SNMP etc?  One of the potential options is SMS
but we are largely unfamiliar with the product.  As as result I have some
questions that I hope somebody may be able to answer.

Does anyone use SMS in an AS/400 and NT environment?  Does anyone know what
SMS can get from an AS/400?  What sort of SNMP trapping can it monitor or
is it just Node Up/Node Down?
