I feel your pain.

That is frustrating because the problem I have is EXACTLY opposite.  I get
GET any size files, but PUTing files over 200k or so seems to be sparatic,
and most of the time fails.

Also, you would think if I went to the AS/400 and did a GET from my PC
(opposite of PUTting from my PC to the AS/400) would work, but it's the same
problem.  So it's no necisarily the command used, but the directional flow
of the data that seems to be my problem.
