Well the granddaddy of AS/400 Education is COMMON.  You just missed the 
Baltimore conference, which would have been driving distance for you.  The 
next COMMON is on May in New Orleans.

There is a good (relatively) local user's group in Philadelphia, which has 
an all day conference in November or December.

The Education Connection (of which I am a partner) has four day conferences 
twice annually, next year in Marco Island and Reno.  See my web page for a
