RE: Programming alternatives to the AS/400 FTP command.

I'm just a lurker on this thread, but that's a great idea....  I have been faced with the same situation...  This weekend, I'll search my linux dist and pull the src code for the FTP client, and see how tough it would be to code...  Has anyone else done this?  Is there code posted in RPG?  I would hate to re-invent the wheel.

You could write your own ( RPG IV ) FTP client
program.  Look at some socket programming examples.  I
know there are lots of examples of writing FTP
clients, in Java, on the i-Net.  This way you
could "talk" to the server and do exactly what you
want to do. Look at the different FTP RFC documents
for help with the server commands.
