Angie,

Here's a few ideas. Take them for what they're worth (wild guesses). Can
you run some trivial command using strpccmd, like DIR? I think with strpco,
you are required to be logged on. It's been a long time since I've used it,
but it was always in the context of an interactive job doing something on
the PC that was running the job. If you're not logged on, you can use
RUNRMTCMD. That requires the remote command servce. You might try executing
msaccess.exe and passing the database path as a parameter instead of
depending on Windows to provide the connection, which may or may not be
present. Also, if you're not logged on to the PC, be careful that there are
no external links in the database that rely on drive mappings. I have run
into several situations where I could do things interactively with Access,
but not through a remote command because external links specified a mapped
drive. Drive mapping is done when you log on, so mappings are not available
to services. Network drives must be accessed via UNC paths, and the user ID
under which the service is running must have access to the network resources.
