  • Subject: PPP ? What am I missing ...

Hi there,

I have a problem with a PPP dial up connection.

I configured a PPP connection profile, via Ops Nav.
Exactly according to the book ( SG24 5190 TCP - More Cool things than
ever ).

I'm following the scenario NT workstation to As400. Workstation gets
connected fine to the As400 ( modem is picked up - password validation on
As400 works fine). All adresses are fixed adresses, fixed ip on workstation,
adress of ethernet interface at the other side.

I can see the interface with the ip adress of the workstation coming up
when I do a NETSTAT option 1 on the As400.

But I just can't ping. What am I missing ? Does this sound familiar to
someone ? When I do an IPCONFIG on the pc I can see IP adress of the
workstation. The mask though is different. On pc side it's 255.0.0.0 and on
the interface when it comes up, it's 255.255.255.255. Could this be the
reason ? I can't change the mask on the Ops Nav PPP configuration ...
