In a former life I did AS/400 technical interviews for the local branch of a
national consulting firm. I was able to filter out a lot of people who
simply did not know enough to function well at client sites. Following are
some of the questions I used. There are not a problem for senior AS/400
people, but were tough on the wannabes.

When a job is submitted to a job queue, how does OS/400 determine
the subsystem in which it should run?
Is it possible to update a file in a CLP?
What commands are used to code a loop in a CLP?
How (IN RPG) do you read the last record in a keyed file without
first reading all the others?
What's the difference between DOW and DOU?
What is an "L" spec used for? (just kidding on this one)
Mention some DDS keywords used with subfiles.
Now tell me the function of each of the keywords that you mentioned.
Give examples of information that you can display with WRKSYSSTS.
Here are some abbreviations that are used in OS/400 CL commands.
Tell me what they mean (one word)
                RTV
                SND
                PGM
                F
                M
                A

You get the idea. . . .
