  • Subject: SQL precompiler: Allowing nested /copy statements
  • From: Rob Berendt <rob@xxxxxxxxx>

I put in a request to IBM, many moons ago, to add nested /copy statements
in the SQL precompiler. I cut the following out of the official response:

RESPONSE Response added on 20000223 20:06:40
RECOGNIZED - IBM agrees with the request and a solution
appears to be a desirable objective.
A solution, however, may not presently
                          appear feasible or implementable.
No IBM commitment is made or implied
as to the eventual delivery of an
                          acceptable solution.
The change to allow this are very large. We have no plan to
deliver this function in the near term.
