I guess I don't understand the complexity of digital media.  
First of all, what is 'digital media'?  Items that are stored 
on media that is copied to other media prior to distribution, 
(like CD's)?  Granted, distribution of it will not reduce your 
raw material inventory, (except for maybe the CD itself).  Or 
was there more to in than this?

I've been asked to provide a list of software vendors and modules that
can run inventory on the AS/400.  Now before I get flooded with every
vendors from JDEdwards to Shoebox, here's the hitch.

This is for a printing and distribution company so, in addition to all
the fairly standard requirements, i.e.
        multiwarehouse
        RF capable
        cycle counts and adjustments
        Receiving and Issues
        I/F to production and purchasing

It must also have the ability to define products that exist only as
digital media.  That can be printed for order fulfillment, and modified
with version levels.  The software should also have the ability to
define various classifications and groupings of the products as well as
define product kits and components.

Any and all experience and opinions are welcomed, but I have only a few
days to compile the list.
