I'm ashamed to admit knowing that this works, but... You can use system 38 prtdoc for mail merges using edit text(text 38 or whatever it's called) documents. We're on v4r3. For form letters it's not too bad. If you have proportional fonts available, you can use them and get reasonably nice looking output. Graphic overlays like signatures also work. Making the address appear in the window of the envelope is challenging. Until last year, edit text was the preferred word processing tool for programmers although the rest of the company had been on PCs for more than 10 years.
