Our company (Symatrix Technology in Portland, OR) does a lot of ADSM consulting, but we don't usually recommend the AS/400 in that environment. We'd like to, but the current implementation of ADSM on the AS/400 as an ADSM server is weak, and it runs like a pig. NT and Unix work much better, unfortunately. BRMS as an ADSM client is little better, IMO. It doesn't function like a standard ADSM client, and the save/restore performance isn't great either. ADSM is a great tool, and I look forward to the day when I can recommend it on the AS/400 as both a client and a server, but I don't think that day's here yet.
