M Hello Jim, It changed from Black to Blue when Micros~1 decided to pretend that NT wasn't OS/2. An OS/2 kernel trap causes a black screen of death but doesn't happen often. Windoze falls over so often that blue was chosen because it is a pacifying colour. That's why Windoze users are so tolerant of the OS shortcomings. Bugger! Windoze froze and I've lost all my work -- blue, blue, pretty blue -- "I feel better now!" (that would make a good song). Regards, Simon Coulter. «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» «» FlyByNight Software AS/400 Technical Specialists «» «» Eclipse the competition - run your business on an IBM AS/400. «» «» «» «» Phone: +61 3 9419 0175 Mobile: +61 0411 091 400 «» «» Fax: +61 3 9419 0175 mailto: shc@flybynight.com.au «» «» «» «» Windoze should not be open at Warp speed. «» «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» //--- forwarded letter ------------------------------------------------------- > X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.7 [en] (WinNT; I) > Date: Thu, 13 Jan 2000 17:00:46 -0800 > From: "Jim Langston" <jlangston@conexfreight.com> > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Reply-To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Subject: BSOD? > > I seem to recall at one time it was the Black Screen of Death, > but someone at Microsoft figured blue would look better. > > I don't remember when it was changed to blue. > > Regards, > > Jim Langston > > Eric Kempter wrote: > > > Yup, courtesy of the Dark Star. > > > > Thank you, > > > > Eric Kempter > > > From: Rick, Kathleen [SMTP:Kathleen.Rick@ps.net] > > > > > > Maybe I am a little new to this--Is BSOD the Blue Screen of Death??? +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
