See Bell's "Men of Mathematics" for a highly opinionated view of Pascal's
philosophical side.

I always thought the principle of the wager was that any risk where the
worst possible outcome is completely harmless or no worse than not taking
the risk isn't a risk.  Whether it applied to the particular situation
Pascal considered is probably a topic for a different forum. <g>
