Scott, I load PTFs weekly on my V4R4 machine every weekend. At work we keep do the same on Thursday for our V4R3 machine. We have been doing this for years without a problem. IBM will mark and pull defects pretty quickly so you should be safe without any other form of warning if you are waiting a few weeks. Last Friday's was the first time we have had to IPL with a problem due to a defective PTF. We got a call today and MF23398 is now flagged as defective. David Morris >>> Scott.Lindstrom@zenith.com 12/13/99 03:48PM >>> Is there anyone on this list who has a test machine and tends to put Hiper PTF's on as soon as they come out? (Then applies them to production boxes after aging them for a while). If so, it would be interesting to have such people post something like "the Hipers from 12/12/99 have been tested for a week and no adverse problems have been found", etc. Then the rest of us with only production boxes will have some idea that others have installed and tested the Hipers before we apply them. Any takers?
