Hello All, I'm not sure that the question, as asked, has been answered. You can certainly move a *SAVF from any release to any release. However you may not be able to do anything with it once it gets there. As far as the OS is concerned a *SAVF is just another 528-record-length file. You can FTP or SNDNETF it to any version of the OS. SAV/RST cares about the contents (i.e., format) of the *SAVF and will complain if the format is from a later (newer) release. For what it's worth, SAV/RST support for VRM320 is likely to exist on future releases since it is the last CISC release and you need some way of transferring objects and data between RISC and CISC. So any OS release due out before 31 May 2000 (end of free support for VRM320) will provide support and probably the first release after 31 May will also. After that, moving stuff to CISC will likely be a 2-step and unsupported process. The homile in all this? To any of you still on CISC systems: GET OFF THE CISC SYSTEM NOW! Get your upgrade in before February or buy a new RISC box. Regards, Simon Coulter. «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» «» FlyByNight Software AS/400 Technical Specialists «» «» Eclipse the competition - run your business on an IBM AS/400. «» «» «» «» Phone: +61 3 9419 0175 Mobile: +61 0411 091 400 «» «» Fax: +61 3 9419 0175 mailto: shc@flybynight.com.au «» «» «» «» Windoze should not be open at Warp speed. «» «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» //--- forwarded letter ------------------------------------------------------- > X-Mailer: QUALCOMM Windows Eudora Pro Version 4.2.2 > Date: Sat, 11 Dec 1999 14:14:25 -0600 > From: "David Gibbs" <david@midrange.com> > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Reply-To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Subject: Move *SAVF from V4r4 machine to a V3R2 machine?? > > At 01:18 PM 12/11/99 , you wrote: > >I want to say no, I think 4.3 was the last lvl to support saves back to > >3.2.
