I remember a fix a LONG time ago (maybe on the 36) where you had to physically break off a pin on the cable to get something to work. Maybe one of my coworkers remembers this. I remember asking someone, "Did you break off pin xx?" Art Tostaine, Jr. CCA, Inc. Jackson, NJ 08527 -----Original Message----- Subject: DTR won't come on for Auto Answer I'm making some progress with this ECS modem I'm using (MultiTech MT2834BA). Calling out to IBM with the QESLINE is working. I created another line that I would like to use to call into the 400. I get a connect pending but I never get a TR light on. In order for the modem to answer the line I need the TR light on. If I disconnect the 400 cable at the modem end I can see DTR pin 20 go high when the line is varied on (so I believe the 400 is configured for auto answer ok). When the cable is connected to the modem it won't. I seem to remember a problem like this many years ago with IBM boxes. I seem to recall one of the pins on the modem had to be low before for the 400 would bring up DTR. I don't recall which one it was. Does someone remember the required sequence for the 400 to bring up DTR? +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
