I gave up on both those choices. But what does work for me, fabulously,
is the Code/400 installation. I have a regular copy now but I started
with the Eval copy and it really is well laid out and completely
searchable. If you really want an easy to use helper then get the Eval
copy and install it. Its worth it just for the Help.

This is the same package IBM shipped with V4R4. The new CD only includes a
few missing books at V4R4 pressing time. The bookreader exists at the
world's worst Windows program. I remain convinced that it's a ten-year-old
Junior Achievement project that IBM pirated! And, at least InfoCenter is
there on CD. Alas, the CD is no more searchable than the Web info center.
IBM doesn't have a clue on this stuff--and even more sadly, they don't
even
have a clue they don't have a clue. They think the current stuff is
_great_!
