Just proves to me that you can write "bad" code in any language.  Obtuse is
obtuse.

Now that we have such good keyword support, why can't we replace
(optionally, of course) all fixed column positions with key words?  It works
great on the H-spec.

Why couldn't the F - spec look like:

F Filename(Master) RecordLength(100) Keylength(7)      etc. etc.

Instead of of haggling over it for the next 10 years, just go ahead and bite
the bullet once and be done with it.  Give us a keyword alternative for
every column of every spec and then those who enjoy crytography can continue
to use the columnar format and those who want "self-documenting" can use the
keywords.  Something for everyone.
