Check out chapter 7 in the System API Programming V4R1 manual
(SC41-5417-00).  It has some getting started stuff as well as how to build
your own MI compiler.  My company bought a MI Func Ref.  At the time V4R3
was the latest and the manual was ~ $250.  We bought a V4R2 manual for ~
$35.

I have always been interested in learning about the dark arts, MI that is.
Count me in also.  Do we have anyone on the list with MI experience?  For

matter is there an MI compiler and how do MI objects work?  A brief rundown
on
how MI works and interacts with the OS would be worth hearing.  Anyone
volunteer? *grin*
