The Pointer with the Dots is the Tension Control. The bigger the dot, the
tighter the paper is held. The Lever with the A - E is the Forms Thickness
Control. Both of our printers have always had the Tension set on the
smallest dot, and we use about an 'A' for thickness. These printers handle
check stock and plain paper at these settings.

Thanks,
Cyndi

THANKS Cyndi !!

When you open the printer up, there is a lever on the left hand side (Blue)
with
letters A through E. top to bottom. JUST to the back of that is a Knob that
controls a "pointer" with a scale of "dots", smaller to bigger. Do you
remember
what this one does ? I've looked in THE manual we have (the setup manual is
all
we have and there is NOTHING in there...).

TIA !!!

Chuck
