We leased a small AS/400 for a month. We put a lot of work into configuring and tuning our production box. No way were we about to put it at risk just to play games with dates. You can do a scratch reload, but what happens if you have a media error? Even without that, how much is the downtime and the wear, tear and stress on the IT staff worth? It cost us well under US$10K. We didn't need to do it during off hours. There was no disruption of service, no overtime, no risk. At the end of the whole thing, we scratched the system, put it back in the box, called the trucking company, and went home to a nice dinner. It was money well spent.
