  • Subject: Providing access to offsite contractor

We have a contractor in another part of the country who we need to allow
to access a loaner box we have here at corporate to assist us in our Y2K
testing efforts. Our production AS/400 (V4R1) is on the ethernet and
has a modem for dialing in (and out), and the loaner box (V4R2) is also
on the ethernet... but without a modem. I can TELNET from our
production box to the loaner. We use client access for terminal
emulation but the contractor has Rumba. I am pretty ignorant when it
comes to anything that involves a cable or a phone line... but I learn
fast if anyone has any suggestions as to how access might be provided.

Thank you in advance for any assistance, ideas, or pointers in the right
direction!!
