Hello John, Many of these programs are listed in the Diagnostic Aids manual. However, a machine check in IBM code is generally an APARable situation. About the only time it is not an IBM problem is when your code is calling IBM code (such as an API) and you are not setting parameters etc correctly. That doesn't appear to be the case here. Call IBM support and send them the dump information. MCH0601 indicates incrementing a pointer by too much and walking off the end of some allocated chunk of storage. It is usually a programming problem. What is the name of the space (the &1 value) when the MCH0601 message is sent? Regards, Simon Coulter. «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» «» FlyByNight Software AS/400 Technical Specialists «» «» Eclipse the competition - run your business on an IBM AS/400. «» «» «» «» Phone: +61 3 9419 0175 Mobile: +61 0411 091 400 «» «» Fax: +61 3 9419 0175 mailto: shc@flybynight.com.au «» «» «» «» Windoze should not be open at Warp speed. «» «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» //--- forwarded letter ------------------------------------------------------- > X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook 8.5, Build 4.71.2173.0 > Date: Mon, 24 May 99 17:32:19 -0500 > From: "John Bussert" <jbussert@stecnet.com> > To: "MIDRANGE-L (E-mail)" <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> > Reply-To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Cc: "John Easley (E-mail)" <jeasley@horizonhobby.com> > Subject: System trace > Importance: Normal > > I know the system data areas book (since defunct) used to give a list of the > system programs and what they do.
