We have an AS/400 on the East Coast and a plant with users in Holland. The response time doesn't appear to be any worse than the users we have in Tacoma Wa. Both response times are good. John Carr Message text written by INTERNET:MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > hi, I'm interested in companies that have a centralised server(s) on one size of the atlantic, but who have users accessing it from the other (via leased line and/or web based). My company is considering a US based server farm, that handles the global business. Given the inherant lags over a transatlantic link, what sort of interactive response time do users experience? It it viable do do this without a replica server at either end? Is the performance of local users affected by the remote ones?
