DASD usage discrepancy (was Ancient 400 to 170)

Pardon my ignorance, but what is going on here? On both systems, the DASD
usage/nonusage total doesn't come close to the total DASD available. Does
it take so long to gather the individual statistics (unused, QSYS, Licensed
programs, etc.) that the individual elements change enough to make the total
different from the available DASD?

Just curious.
