for sure. notice i said 'good'! you can either get a diamond, a lump
of coal, or anything in between.
we'd be looking for someone that had training, showed aptitude, and
interest.
years ago, when i was involved with dpma, we'd have student nights, and
several times a student would approach me, and then complain that they
hated programming, but they were taking computer science because a
guidance councilor told them that's were the jobs would be. well, i'd
tell them to get another major, because they'd hate it for a job, and
they'd be a lousy programmer. and goodness knows, we have enough of
those.
