I strongly disagree.  With new standards version and documents released
every year, maintaining EDI standards can be expensive.  Also the
flexibility of the commercial translators and the document tracking features
make then pretty valuable.  We have installed Premenos for several customers
who thought it was better to do it themselves only to find that they did not
want to be in the EDI translation business.
