     Sure, quick and dirty methods exist, but there's also a very nice,
     well implemented, useful method supported by DB2 and OS400 called
     database triggers.

     ADDPFTRG

     Triggers do need to conform to certain design standards, though.
     You can get most of the information you need to get started by
     searching the MIDRANGE-L archives at WWW.MIDRANGE.COM. Trigger
     questions come up quite regularly, and most of the answers you need
     are already available.

Is there a quick and dirty way to call a program when a physical file is
updated?
