I am using the Internet and Client Access to connect to an AS/400. I'm now trying to print spool files from the AS/400 on my HP 540 printer. I created an OUTQ with Queue: JOEATHOME Remote System: *INTNETADR Remote Printer Queue: HP DeskJet 540 Printer Connection Type: *IP Internet Address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (see notes later) Destination Type: *OTHER Host Print Transform: *YES Manufacturer type and model: *HP540 Workstation customizing object: *NONE Image configuration: *NONE Destination Options: *NONE Print separator page: *NO User defined option: *NONE User defined object: *NONE User driver program: *NONE I tried to create this without specifying a Remote Printer Queue but it wouldn't finish the command until I keyed something here. Because I'm going through the Internet, I get a dynamically assigned IP. I'm using the CL program posted by Gary Feinstein to extract my IP address, change the OUTQ accordingly and then issue the STRRMTWTR. The CL is working, I can see the IP address and the OUTQ getting changed. The spool file goes to a SND status, but I never get a report. I cancel the writer after several minutes because nothing prints. The spool file that I'm trying to print is only a compiled CLP program (4 pages total). Does anyone see a problem with my configuration? I would greatly appreciate any help.
