In addition to Don's excellent suggestions, you may want to use the IBM supplied authority list QUSEADPAUT to regulate who can create programs that adopt authority. This will inhibit people from building backdoors in your system. Other things to look at include: User Profiles attached to Job Descriptions (at level 30 and below) Unsecured message files (*CHANGE authority or higher) Any user profile that has *use authority to another user profile. *PUBLIC authority on production objects And of course, you want to make sure that none of the programmers have, or can aquire, *ALLOBJ authority. :) Good Luck, jte -- John Earl johnearl@toolnet.com PowerTech Toolworks 206-575-0711 PowerLock Network Security www.toolnet.com The 400 School www.400school.com -- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
