<< I am having trouble downloading a file that has one of the fields as
Variable-length hexadecimal data type (Vhex) in client access file
download to PC.  Every field is converted properply to Asci except the
field with Vhex that gets downloaded as hex numbers. >>

This has to do with the CCSID.  If the field is not DDS described, it
defaults to CCSID 65535.  Click on File/Properties in your Client Access
download, check the "convert CCSID 65535" box.  This will convert the
field to ASCII.  This problem will occur with any field not DDS
described, such as a results field in Query.
