  • Subject: Ending TELNET

I know this topic came up before but not sure in this manner.

We have for years had our own SIGNOFF CPP that would manage an
ENDPASTHR so that users passed through would fall back to the
originating system when signing off.

Now we have TELNET sessions running that want to return to their
primary system on a signoff. The problem I find with the SIGNOFF parm
ENDCNN(*YES) and any form of the ENDTCPCNN commands is that they don't
work well with NetSofts IP 5250 client. When I use either of these
methods I get ALL my telnet ended, all the way down to my desktop. I'm
not left at the 1st AS/400 but rather a blank screen. I have to
reconnect my NetSoft session back to the first system to continue. What
I'm looking for is some type of QUIT function that only drops the last
remote hop or link.

Anyone know of a way to test if my session is a 2nd hop through an
AS/400 versus my initial PC to 400 link?
