Set the printer configuration to 300dpi.  Other applications that require the 
600
dpi will change the resolution as needed.  When printing from the AS/400, data 
is
sent to the printer using the settings on the printer.  PC Applications are a 
bit
smarter and can change things such as the resolution as needed.
