Any RISC model AS/400 with V4R1 + (possibly V3R6/7 but not 100% sure
without digging into it) can run SSP as a guest operating system, and
all S/36 applications will run (object compatible - just save off the
old 36 and restore into the new SSP 'machine').
You could access the system from any 5250 emulation code on a PC, but I
THINK if you want to use Client Access for Win95 you would need to
connect first to a native OS/400 session, then STRPASTHR ot TFRM36 to
the S/36 SSP 'machine'.

Now although any RISC model 400 can run SSP, they may not perform as
well as you would think (still, probably well enough for someone used to
an old S/36) because they are not optimized for running SSP as the SSP
only model 436 is.
Their best bet may be to purchase a used model 436 with SSP 7.5 - again
a save & restore basically to migrate - although might be best to
utilize (rent/borrow) the Migration Data Link and the special software
(#TNLIB) that automates the complete conversion. If there is no
compatible media between the two machines this is definitely the way to
go.
