I take it that a data replication product is out of the question.

If you want to roll your own, if machine A and machine B are using same format
data bases, you might capture journal files, transmit then apply.  Compare 
before
images to make sure that you don't clash changes.

Off the top of my head the other thing that comes to mind is to send 
before/after
images from a trigger program.  Have a background job handle that back/forth
communications reading from a data queue and have the trigger program pump the
queue.
