In one series of applications, we use QTEMP for a few logical join files that we build. The physical files are in their regular libraries. These applications have been in service for several years. We installed a risc box in October and V4R2 a few weeks ago. Last Thursday these applications started failing. Certain selections could not be made with out an error message. For instance we have departments with 2-digit identifiers. Department 78 and department 80 fail, and no others. We also found that if we copied the file over to the old machine everything ran fine. Also, copying the physicals to QTEMP and operating on them from there was successful. If it was bad data, wouldn't the copies have failed too? Also we can use these files including these department numbers in other applications. This is really mystifying to us.
