As someone else said, ftp can take the records directly, as long as there are no packed fields. But it takes all the records. It sounds like you want to take only some of the records. If so, you can use Query/400 or SQL to create an outfile. Be careful to define numeric fields as zoned (use the ZONED function in SQL). Then straight FTP the resulting workfile.
