I guess all that stuff I pick up on the laser printer is just imaginary. The laser printer that is know to me as Device/Writer/Outq HOULJ5SI. Of course everyone else in the shop prints to device/writer/outq PRT135. But guess what, it prints on the same HP LaserJet. with no extra software! OK, I did cheat, and you have to have an IP printer. I wasn't satisfied with the way operations defined the printer, so I created a device and outq that point to the same IP address. I then use modiiified version of the Work Station Custimization table I found here on the list. (Thanks, whoever put that out here). Anyway, both writers write to the same IP address, and the Jet Direct network Interface sorts it all out! I also created Remote Outqs on the other 5 machines, that all point back to the writer def on the development system.
