With due regard, I think that by allowing DLO objects in User ASPs, IBM did
not make the maximum *NOMAX, but simplyed up the limits by a factor of 16,
with the confusion of User ASPs.

I recent left DLOs and moved to the IFS.  It's considerably faster, allows
long file names, and has (as I understand it) no limits.
