>>> Bob Angell <aims@gte.net> 03/27/98 01:17am >>> When you read these, you have to wonder just how shallow that "gene" pool happens to be!!! <snip> Those of us who started out as telephone support gurus probably all have similar "strange but true" stories - here's mine: Call comes in from a lady attempting to void a check in our accounts payable package (AS/400 based package, so this is marginally on-topic ;)). Customer is asked "did you access menu A, did you take option B, etc" exactly per the manual, but she insists "Yeah I did all that, but the darn check's still there." Programmers are consulted, debuggers are run, ad-nausem. Finally the customer is fed up and (literally) screams into the phone "THIS SYSTEM STINKS - I'VE WRITTEN VOID ON THE CHECK IN BIG RED LETTERS AND THE D*&^$ THING STILL SHOWS UP IN THE COMPUTER!" A lot of people must've ignored the "NO DIVING" signs at the shallow end of the gene pool :) Scott Cornell Mercy Information Systems +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
