Computter World, March 23, 1998 Page 39 Full page ad touting Sybase Adaptive Server as "The Fastest Database". Compared to Oracle , DB2/400, and Sql Server (Duh) Big question, why does DB2 appear so slow. No details on hardware configuration, except AS/400e 12 processor. Their web site http://www.sybase.com/adaptiveserver/tpc_98/press_release.html lists a TpmC of 25,150 at $125/TpmC for DB2, 52,117 TpmC at $81/TpmC for Sysbase on an HP 9000 V-Class Enterprise Server running on only 16 PA-8200 240MHz processors. Does anyone have any other information on this.
