I don't know about CA/400 current offerings, however .... IBM is enhancing the TCP/IP support in the AS/400 to support printers where previously they had only supported displays (as was the original intention of the client protocol they were using - so don't really blame them for that). That functionality is available in V4R2 and IBM is planning (or so I am told - I am NOT an IBMer !!) to release the capability via PTF for earlier releases (v4r1, v3r7 and v3r2) with various time frames -- my information says v3r7 sooner than the others and in the near timeframe (again I am NOT an IBMer). NOW CAUTION -- even though the support is available in the AS/400, the PC client software must support the function or you only have half a solution. When that will be available in Client Access and what platforms -- I don't know. Other vendors have a printer solution over TCP/IP that you can get today, but I really shouldn't comment on that (because I represent a vendor) so I won't. If you have an installed base of CA/400 you wouldn't care anyway. I personally don't like Anynet although I suppose there are several people using it - just my personal viewpoint which I won't elaborate on here since you are not using it anyway. Hope this helps.
