oops, - my bad... I meant to type:

c            eval     location = *blanks
c            eval     $work = %trim('   toronto, ontario  ')
c            eval     $start = %len(location) - %len(%trim($work)) + 1
c            eval     %subst(location:$start:$len($work)) =
                       %trim($work)

don't need checkr or check - just %len(%trim()).
