VB can't (as best I know) be used to edit/compile/debug green screen and batch RPG applications. That is the task for which Code/400 was invented. So why would you ever be considering choosing between one and the other ?? I admit that the price tag for Code/400 at $1,000 bucks a seat (discounts available for multiple seats) is higher than I'd like, but that's due to an earlier decision to bundle Code/400 with VARPG. Hopefully that situation will not last forever and we'll be looking at a much lower price level if all you want is Code/400. If you meant to compare VARPG with VB, then the comparison is closer, but as others have pointed out the "raw" $100 VB is hardly suitable for AS/400 access and you really need the professional edition plus a third party set of controls for data access. Of course you still have the consideration that VB will not let you re-use your existing RPG code on the client-side.
