6105's !   I'm not laughing, I'm pi**ing myself !   :-)

If your 'upgrade' involves just adding more disk (and maybe memory & a
model upgrade) as opposed to swapping out the box for a new one and
replacing all DASD, I don't think you should have any performance
problems with the 8GB drives, considering the large number of disk arms
you've got (unless they are all consistently showing over 40% busy).
Our little beast is much smaller.  We replaced a 9402-200 with a
9406-S10 and went from 4 x 1.967GB disks to 3 x 8.589GB and haven't
noticed any performance problems.
