Thanks for responding. I tried it at your suggestion. The first problem I encountered was an error stating the file cannot be an externally described file. So I did a CRTPF, copied the data there, then tried it. It did the copy, but there must be some CCSID thing going on (or I selected a wrong parm option) because it appears to still be EBCDIC when I look at it with Win95 Explorer.
