  • Subject: Screen Field Problem
  • From: "Marc Zylka" <mzylka@xxxxxxxxxxx>

We've been having an occasional problem with screen fields suddenly
being an area of the screen which the cursor cannot be used in. For
example. Today, a user brought this problem to my attention. Whenever
she used a contract maintenance function, the 3rd screen was totally
protected. The field which the cursor was in was protected when it
should not have been. The Tab key would not work either. Has anyone
else seen this type of problem? When I tried the same function, the same
thing happened to me, using the same data.

Details: we're using NetSoft NS/Elite V2.22 as the emulator. The program
objects
being used are unique in the system, no duplicates, and are S/36 MRT
programs. We're on V3R2 on a model 300.

One thing which also is strange about this is that, being in the 36
environment
on the AS/400, is if she gets to the menu using "MENU OE,FKI" instead of
"MENU OE" (no library specified), the screen works fine.

We've had the same situation in our New York office using a screen which is
prompted (ie. no program). The user gets the screen but cannot enter
anything.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Marc Zylka (mzylka@netpath.net)
